Grants
Policy on Providing Grants for those attending Ringing Training Courses
Grants of up to £75 are available to members to cover the costs of attending a ringing training course for the purpose of improving their ringing, subject to the following conditions:
- That any applications are received at least 2 weeks prior to the course date / start date.
- That proof of expenditure be provided prior to the grant being paid. This can include an email from the course organiser confirming your booking and the cost of the course.
- That non-attendance at the course will require any grant paid to be returned in full.
- This condition does not apply in exceptional circumstances such as the death of a close family member so long as the Master is notified promptly.
- That the person applying for the grant is either:
a) a student currently matriculated (enrolled) at a Welsh university or college who rings regularly and often at a church in Wales during term time, or;
b) a member of the Society who has attended at least two of the last four principal tours (Dinner, Easter, Summer and Autumn) and who faces financial hardship.
Grants are discretionary with the decision being taken by the Master and General Secretary.
Applications to be made in writing to master@welshcolleges.org.uk
